PE Credit for Hockey
Canyons School District approved Brighton Hockey for 0.5 PE credit in Individual Lifetime Activities (ILA), one of the three PE classes required to graduate.
What it covers
- Hockey counts as your ILA credit. If you have an ILA class planned, talk to your counselor. You may not need it.
- It does not cover Fitness for Life or Participation, Skills & Techniques (PST). A school sport like football or lacrosse can earn PST.
- You can earn it once, starting with the 2026-27 season.
- Open to Brighton High students on any Brighton team (Navy, Orange, or JV).
What you have to do
- Attend 75% of practices and 75% of games, counted from the first day of school (Aug 17). Absences your head coach excuses don't count against you. Mark your attendance at least 3 days ahead.
- Attend the nutrition and sport psychology seminar. Date coming soon; it will be recorded if you can't make it.
- Keep a log after every game. Use the Player Log template, printed or copied into a notebook. Your coaches will check it during the season.
- Turn in the form. At the end of the season, fill out the Credit Request Form (PDF), sign it with a parent, and give it to your coach. The coaches sign and turn it in.
